We vigorously support the men and women who are fighting to sustain a way of farming and living that has existed for generations — and we do it with actions, not words. We work directly with family farmers and cooperatives, often paying them more than the market rate. By doing so, we're not only building long-term relationships with people who share our values, but also creating an economic model that allows them to be financially viable. The way we see it, the more demand we create for a farmer's product, the more food dollars we put into a farmer's pocket — and, ultimately, the more we make sustainable farming as a whole a more attractive and feasible business to pursue. What's more, we effectively shorten the distance between you and your food, making the supply chain more traceable, understood and valued.
